Gifts from Animals After Death

Here are a few communication treasures from animals after leaving their physical form. (Species Link, Issue 12, July 1993)

Animal communicator Sue Goodrich received a call from Elly, a client who was in a state of despair, verging on hysteria. Her dear dog friend, Lisa, had passed on. What could she do? She was so overwhelmed. I had Elly hang up so I could communicate with Lisa without all the emotions interfering.

This is what Lisa had to say:

You must change the patterns through which you are working. Fear of death is fear of change. Seeing that every death/renewal is your growth lets you begin to rest in love, to feel love, not as a syrupy emotion, but as deep appreciation, a gladness at another chance to change your mind.

Fill the mind with chances to appreciate change, evolution, and opportunities to review and renew. This is the perfect love that casts out fear. Every good thought you dwell upon creates light in the cells, until it can truly be said the Kingdom of God is within.

Create a ritual of transformation so that the energy and matter bound up in that old way of being can be released into the greater Reality. It shall be reformed into something more useful and in harmony with now.

Give thanks for all it has been, for all it meant to us, for its comfort and friendship, for the opportunity to depend upon it, lean upon it, use it. Give thanks. Recognize that it worked for us, and we learned from it. Then let us move on. We let go by forgiving and removing all reminders that connect us to negative memories and emotions. The mementos you keep are those that allow you to revere and appreciate what the dead have meant to you. In these, we see that it has some qualities of God, greatness, beauty, and transcendence that you saw in me.

Death has freed a complex of energy to turn into light. Open to this light and walk as it shines upon you.

After I gave this information to Elly, and she was trying to absorb it, Lisa told me to have Elly become still so she could feel this light. Lisa sent it through the top of her head and filled her body with it. Elly was instantly at peace and healed of the terrible pain she had been feeling.

It was a blessing to be the instrument of such healing, transforming love. When Elly's friend showed up to help her, she was smiling and energized and no longer needed a shoulder to cry on.

Rochelle Mason received these life lessons from her departed cat friend, Lucy:

Intangibles are the values of life.

See what you want.

Have faith.

There’s no such thing as doing the right thing. Whatever you do
is the right thing.

Spirit is not ego. Spirit is love.

You should be as happy as me!

Sing the song of Spring!

Eat Well.

Be in love. Think love. Be love. Be in love.

Value time.

In spirit, there is no time.

There are no absolutes.

Be free.

Artist Susan Hertel contributed her haunting poems and drawings to Species Link. She attended courses I taught in New Mexico in 1990, and I stayed at her home for one of my visits. We communicated with her dogs, cats, chickens, and horses, and walked her land. I remember the swirling desert floor, the gnarled trees, and the intricacy of pack rat homes. Light and tremendous paintings of horses and cows filled her art studio.

When I received a letter from her family that she had died, my eyes flooded with tears at the loss of this beautiful friend, but Susan immediately came in to communicate:

Darkness
Turns into light
Peace
Sweet peace
Friendship and serenity
I thank you for your tears
They are the waterfall
That keeps life flowing

Know that I am with you
And with all the world
Spread out like a giant eagle's wing
I fly and float and dream
And to all of you in Earth's travail
And sweet mystery
I send my hopes and prayers
Know that life is good
In all dimensions
It sings sweet

I sing my lovely, lonely song
Echoing through the skies and ages
I sing to you and All
I feel sweet peace
Floating in the Mystery
A part of the Heart of all my friends
The animals, plants, land, humans that love
And resonate with it all
I am free
Peace.
