The Healing Vision of Great Ancestor Wolf

In 2016, I connected with the animals of Earthfire Institute Wildlife Sanctuary, asking who wanted to speak about healing the Earth when the director Susan Eirich requested this. A white wolf appeared. Susan sent me photos of the white wolves at the sanctuary, and Arctic Mist came forward. Yet, that didn’t feel quite right to me. There seemed to be another white wolf that wanted to speak. Then I found out why.

Arctic Mist gave me a picture of another white wolf, who she said was her brother who had gone on. The wolf morphed into Earthfire’s founding wolf, Earthfire. The images zoomed further back and Arctic Mist led me to the Great Ancestor Wolf,
Grandmother/Grandfather Wolf Spirit, the founding wolf and leader or guiding spirit of all wolves. S/he was the Archetypal Wolf. The wolf appeared very large above the Earth, blazing white fur with streaks of gray, black, and silver and two eagle feathers trailing behind her head.

Grandmother/Grandfather Great Wolf showed me an image of a giant rock with a large section of tree trunk split lengthwise down the middle. It looked like a birch tree, grayish white with many scars. S/he said:

The Earth is crying. The Earth is wounded and dying in many places. While there are still many areas of beauty, the Earth is poisoned and needs relief. She will have her relief, healing, and time of change to turn over all that is dead and bring new life.

I heard a great rumbling, a massive rolling sound deep in the Earth that traveled through the core and played along the land and ocean waves. I saw great movements of land and water, tidal waves of earth and sea, continents upheaving, and the land churning over itself like baker’s dough rolled and pounded to make fresh bread.

Grandmother/Grandfather Great Wolf showed me the great rock rolling aside and the split birch trunk emerging, positioning itself upright in the roiled-up compost pudding soil. Out of the tree’s great split emerged the seeds of all new life, falling and spreading over the Earth to grow into plants, animals, rivers, rocks, mountains—all the things needed to refresh, repopulate, and remake a new Earth. When all the “seeds” had been distributed, the crack in the trunk sealed itself, and the tree began to grow, rooting itself deeply into the soil and reaching great branches to the heavens, towering over the Earth. I saw many kinds of trees growing and new climate balances forming.

A primal, glowing Earth, cleaned of all human-made impurities and filled with harmonious life appeared. The humans that populated the Earth were few compared to before the “Great Churning.” Humans were in balance with the myriad of other life forms and conscious of their place with all other beings in the web of life. It was good.

Grandmother/Grandfather Great Wolf began to beat a rhythm on a great drum that made all the beings and the Earth itself dance with joy. A new day started for the Earth and all its people (all beings).
