Garden Unmuted
Looking out on my beautiful garden
Plants lovingly nestled into soil
Tended with care
Silence
Till I listen with my inner ear
To a symphony of sound
Low hums and rumbles from roots
Singing sap in trunks and branches
Whistling up and down like violins
Chirps and soft staccato clips of growth
Trumpeting bursts of leaf and flower
Whoops and whines of breath
Like choruses of angel choirs
Blending together and coursing wildly
Burgeoning volume and depth
Softening to quiet gentle murmurs
The garden sings to me
Shifting channels
To hear their thoughts
Feel their feelings
Plants tell me of their love
For me and all
I feel their enveloping warmth
Surging from pores
Through soil and air
Constantly expressed
Sustaining energy of life
In green and brown, red, blue, and gold
I breathe, I drink, I feel, I share
The joy and love of garden plants
Growing and singing.
